Mathematician John Nash & wife killed in car crash

Mathematician John Nash  Nobel Prize winner who inspired the movie “A Beautiful Mind,” was killed in an auto accident Saturday, along with his wife in New Jersey State Police.The couple were in a taxi cab whose driver lost control and crashed into a guard rail, the network reported, they were pronounced dead at the scene citing state police.

The taxi driver, Tarek Girgis, was flown to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening. A passenger in the other car was transported to the hospital complaining of neck pain.

The Oscar award-winning film “A Beautiful Mind” starring Russell Crowe was loosely based on Nash’s longtime struggle with schizophrenia.Nash, 86, and Alicia Nash, 82, were riding in a taxi near Monroe Township when the incident occurred, State Police Sgt. 1st Class Gregory Williams said.Crowe wrote on Twitter on Sunday that he was stunned by reports of the death of Nash and his wife, Alicia.
