British Prince Harry arrives in Australia Begins Army. Prince Harry reports for duty with Australian Army after arriving in country for month-long stint.The Prince arrived in Sydney on a commercial British Airways flight at 5:00am (AEST) before boarding an RAAF jet to Canberra.Buckingham Palace released a message from Queen Elizabeth to accompany Captain Wales’ arrival.Captain Wales said, in what has been described as a “challenging programme”.

Prince Harry a hit in Australia as the Prince of Smiles pulls faces and laughs his way through a rainy meet-and-greet with fans. Prince Harry is expected to take part in exercises with the country’s special forces and Aboriginal soldiers as part of a long-running exchange programme between UK and Australian forces.

The 30-year-old was greeted by hundreds of enthusiastic well-wishers who were waiting in the about 1,000 spectators who gathered in pouring rain outside the Australian War Memorial (AWM) and he took time to pose for photos and chat with the crowd, including a very excited 12-year-old Ethan Toscan who was holding a sign saying ‘Red Heads Rule.

British Prince Harry will also spend time with the Army’s Sydney-based 6th Aviation Regiment, where he will fly helicopters if he passes military testing.The Prince then toured the First World War and Afghanistan Galleries at the Australian War Memorial met members of the public.
